In the United States, only 25% of us use our annual paid vacation days. Another 61% of people work while on vacation. Stressed and running, we continually impede our productivity, self-growth and strain our relationships. However, the Ruben Digital team spent a week at the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas cultivating relationships with people from around the world. Leaving communications and technology on airplane mode, we gifted ourselves the opportunity to practice yoga, play in the ocean and just breathe.
Breathing may seem like an odd thing to think about since our body does this for us automatically, however breathing properly is extremely important. Our breath serves as the connective link between our mind and body.

Today, mindfulness training is the key to a successful business. Mindfulness training utilizes techniques including yoga, meditation & breathing exercises. According to a Forbes article, this training is “linked to improved cardiovascular health, immune systems, healing time, memory, and focus.” WHIL is an organization that offers three mindfulness programs which only take 10 minutes a day! As individuals, we must go within to become a stronger leader, better team player, and a focused human being.
While vacations come with many costs, taking time off to recharge is invaluable. You will return refreshed, peaceful and ready to take on new challenges!
