This year’s annual Business Expo was a hit! 60 exhibitors from the Northbrook, Glenview and Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods chambers all came together to present their business to professionals from a variety of industries in the area. Attractions included live demonstrations, product samplings, special offers & opportunities to speak with local business owners & managers.
With so many different booths and interesting companies at the Expo, the dessert samples and creative product exhibits were great eye candy!
Toffee Break Desserts
Toffee Break, otherwise known as “The Ultimate Dessert Experience” is owned and operated by Robin Fields. This delicious company was formed in 1998 when Robin discovered her passion for making toffee after she tried to cover up a dessert mistake at a party. Since then, Robin and her sister Shari opened a commercial kitchen in Northbrook. Along with countless toffee flavors, they also make cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels & more!
Basketworks

This exhibit caught my eye as the variety of basket options were all unique and put together beautifully; plus most of them included treats such as fun candy, specialty cookies & decadent chocolates. Lise Schleicher’s award-winning baskets & exceptional customer service have kept the company going since 1997!
Allgauer’s on the Riverfront
One of the many perks of the Hilton Chicago/Northbrook hosting the Expo was the impressive display of desserts by their restaurant, Allgauer’s. Allgauer’s pastry chef makes delightful treats fresh daily with wholesome ingredients. They catered a wide variety of samples including key-lime custard with fruit, s’mores cups, tiramisu, and many cheesecake flavors. Allgauer’s is also known for their Friday night prime rib and seafood buffet!
