After 15 years substitute teaching and working as an office manager, Michelle was ready for a change. Greatly inspired by Nate & Hannah’s passion for growing Ruben Digital, the company’s accelerating growth attracted her. She felt very strongly that her organizational skills, communication & love for writing would benefit this exciting start up. While the idea of working with family might be challenging, she was ready to give it a shot!
Michelle Ruben graduated from U of I at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors of Arts in English and minor in Public Relations. Writing has always been a passion, along with art. She let her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit run wild with two companies of her own. In 1988, Abzigns hit the streets of Chicago. Abzigns was a wearable art company where Michelle painted unique designs on clothing & bags. In 2011, Michelle and her close friend Bonnie introduced Tea Sleeves – decorative hand-sewn patterns for holding teabags when you’re on the go.
When she’s not thinking about Ruben Digital, Michelle enjoys many activities centered around health and wellness: Kundalini yoga at Sky Fitness, walking around Lake Arlington, Pilates, volunteering with Pathways to Successful Living, and cooking nutritious meals for her family.
